Interstellar actor replacement WIP
Compositing
About The Project
For my final project of school, I had to comp in an other actor, aka me, in a scene from Interstellar. I chose a scene with a lot of complexity to demonstrate my skills.
First off, I had to film my take. After, I rotoed myself. Why didn't I keyed myself instead? Because I needed a clean edge. With my setup, I couldn't do a clean alpha with a key without having some problems. After that, I keyed my hair. I included my plate with the alpha to the original plate.
The original plate contained 2 actors, Rommly and Cooper. With my plate, I chose to keep Cooper and Paint Out Rommly. Using FrameHolds, rotoscopy and Photoshop, I created a clean plate. After, I integrated the interaction between Copper and I using roto and tracking. I also incorporated a shadow.

Challenges:
To make my life “easier”, I wanted to test and use Silhouette. My alpha edges weren't perfect, in fact they were worse than a Key. So I did a good manual roto. A week lost...
Then, the left hand was coming out of the frame when I turned. So I had to recreate it with disolves and warps.
